P/7 Camp 2017 • Dates- Monday 25th September to Friday 29th September(four overnight stays) • Staff – TBC P7 staff , Member of SMT • Ratio of 1:15 /10 Pupils: 15 confirmed Deposit to be paid by February Pupil will leave Williamston Primary School at 9.30 am and will depart from Lagganlia at 11.00 am

Reasons for change • Outdoor learning – entitlement of Cfex outdoor learning contributes to delivering the scottish Government’s overarching strategic objectives towards ‘creating a more successful country’: • Progressive experiences • Challenge • Holistic – Learning of sustainability- Children involved in planning for residential and studying the area to be visited as part of classroom learning prior to going , whilst there and on return.

  7. What to bring to camp with you? • Clothing list- Handout will be provided in preparation • Sturdy Outdoor Footwear- essential • Rain Jacket- essential • Torches • Please do not send good clothes. • ‘Dressy clothes for the party • All clothing should benamed.

  8. Clothing List.Use this kit list when you pack preferably with your child present. This goes into your child’s bag and will be returned to their bag.The centre will provide a kit bag for pupils to use throughout the week this will include water proofs (jacket and trousers), boots and a rucksack.Other items useful to include are:plastic bags for outdoor shoesplastic bag for soiled clothes

  9. What to bring to camp with you? • Toys • Soft toy • Book/comic to read • Please do not send electronic or expensive toys • All toys /books should benamed. • Please no mobile phones

  10. What to bring to camp with you? • Money • Pocket Money of £6 maximum TBC • Please do not give your child any extra money. • SWEETS- no sweets or drinks - we take snacks if they are needed, supper is provided.

  11. Important Information • Medical • All medicines must be clearly labelled with instructions for administering and given to a member of staff on Monday morning. Details should also be included on the excursion form. Allergies should also be noted on the excursion form. • If your child requires an inhaler,your child must bring this with them. Please ensure this is easily accessible in child's belongings e.g day sack and if possible pack a spare. • Travel Sickness- if your child suffers from this make sure they have had a tablet before they leave for school on Monday and they have with them a travel sickness tablet (clearly labelled as medicine) for Thursday afternoon.

Important Information • Meals • All meals are provided for from Monday dinner until Friday breakfast .* • Pupils will return to school at 1.00 pm – 1.30 pm • Please send your child with a packed lunch for Monday. • Cafeteria Style food - ample choice • Evening meal is a three course meal with water or milk • Breakfast- cereal, fruit juice, cooked breakfast • Catering follows Scottish Exec guidelines for preparing food for young people.

  13. A Typical Daily Routine @ Lagganlia…. Wake up when you like, but……… 8 am Breakfast 8.30am Pick up packed lunch from a choice of food provided. 9.00am Staff or Group Leaders meet with their Lagganlia Course Co-ordinator to talk about the day ahead 9.10am Groups meet with their instructors at their allocated meeting place. Your adventure begins…….. Lunch time will depend on day and activity. Your instructor will tell you when & where! 5.00pm Activities finish 5.30 pm Dinner After dinner Evening activity/ies and supper (cake etc baked at Lagganlia) Bed time 9.30 pm Lights out 10.00 pm The evenings are a valuable opportunity to reflect, have some fun, or have another adventure with other group members. Lagganlia will ensure there is a duty instructor available to support the evening program between 5.00 and 9.00 pm.
