  3. Released TAKS A waitress at a local restaurant earns $3.25 per hour plus tips. In two weeks she earned a total of $720, including $531.50 in tips. How many hours did the waitress work during this 2-week period?

  4. Work the problem • Identify the unknown; Define your variables • Identify key information in the problem • Write your equation • Check for truth value • Answer the question!

  5. Example 2 Which expression best describes the volume of a rectangular prism that has a width of 3a 3 bc 4 units, a length of 7a 5 b 2c 2 units, and a height of 4ab 3c units?
