Axonometric (Isometric) Drawing D).Perspective Drawing A).Multiview Drawing Technical Sketches and Drawings • There are four common types of drawings that you need to learn. During Advanced Graphic Communications, you will be expected to use three of these four types. . B,C, D are pictorial drawings. These are drawings that show its figure in all three dimensions, (width, height and depth) in a single view. Note: The multiview drawing shows multiple flat views to a 3D object to represent its form in 2D. We will study this in a later unit.

  4. Today’s Focus – Isometric Sketches • An Isometric Sketch is a sketch that shows height, width, and depth of an object by using three axes set at 120˚ angles to one another. D D

  7. Class ExerciseAs a team you have 3 minutes to discuss the following: • What dimensions are shown on the isometric axes? • Match each axis with the correct dimension. Width, Height and Depth X axis = Width Y axis = Height Z axis = Depth

Think-Pair-Share Sketching Exercises • In the next 5 minutes as an Individual • Sketch Isometric Figure #3 • Identify the isometric and non isometric lines • NOW take 2 minutes • to compare your figure with the person sitting next to you • THEN identify the isometric and non isometric planes • In the next 5 minutes • share the results with the another team, make any corrections needed.

[at least 3 items should be listed] • Now take 2 minutes • to merge your list with the person sitting next to you AND add 1 new item to the list • In the next 5 minutes • share the results with the other half of your team, delete questions that you can answer for each other, AND prioritize the remaining questions your list
