  1. WP 1:Specification and evaluation criteria. Ted Luiten, ProRail AUTOMAIN dissemination seminar, Paris, October 4, 2012

  2. Basic SE structure

  3. International benchmark • Desktop study • Reviewing results of other (EU-)projects. • International questionnaire • To the involved IMs • Followed by a second, more detailed questionnaire. • Investigation in road network maintenance.

  4. Benchmark results No overall state-of-the-art to be formulated. Overall ways of working are different Improving possession planning is a common theme. The assessment of asset condition is a shared field of interest. No practices found in highway engineering that are transferable to rail.

  5. Future developments.

  6. What did we derive from this? Innovation evaluation criteria. Consortium discussions. Functional and capability requirements. Benchmark Future vision KPIs

  7. KPIs Measuring the effects on the overall capacity. Capacity gain defined as the reduction of unavailability due to maintenance, inspection and repairs.

  8. Functional and capability requirements A set of 21 requirements has been defined, segregated per future period (2026, 2036, 2051).

  9. Innovation evaluation criteria. For each innovation a set of evaluation criteria has been defined.

  10. Conclusions The process leading to criteria and requirements seems to be rather fuzzy. But the discussions clarifies to all participants what we want to achieve, The exact formulation of it is very useful to manage the program as a whole. Criteria have formally been accepted by the commission.
