Virtual Worker Trends • 4.3 million workers (3.2% of work force) work from home at least ½ time. • 40% U.S. employers offer flexible work place options. • Larger companies, New England & Mid-Atlantic employers offer most telecommuting options. • 50% U.S work force holds a job compatible with partial telecommuting. • 80-90% workforce would prefer telework at least part time. • Salaried workers more likely to work remotely. • 43% of workers spent time working remotely.

Virtual worker trends • 68% of Millennials indicated employers with remote workplace policies would be preferred. • 30% of telecommuters report being more productive working from home (less distracted). • 66% of managers report telecommuters have increased productivity. • 82% of telecommuters report lower stress levels. • Hiring managers expect more FT staff to work remotely over the next 10 years. • Majority of employers lack formal telecommuting policies.
