Technology at Finch • We want to equip students with skills to evaluate and think critically about the information they receive • We want to give students the skills to organize and present information using technology • We want our students to understand and appreciate technology as a tool to enhance learning

How do we do this? • Provide students with access to reliable resources (online databases, reliable web sites) • Teach students how to use ministry and board approved programs (i.e. Word Processing programs, subject-specific curriculum related software, graphic organizers, multimedia presentations, etc.) • Teach students to be media literate and to demonstrate an awareness of internet safety and proper online ethics

Where are we at Finch? • Classes visit the lab weekly + additional times when needed • Technology is integrated into classroom learning (i.e. extension of classroom studies) • Teacher-Librarian is supporting classroom technology integration by teaching students how to use basic search engines, catalogue search (junior grades) and basic computer skills (primary classes)
