  7. Binders • Stay at school • Child is responsible for their binder • All papers being used in class will be stored in the binders.

  8. Blue Folders • To school and home everyday • Child is responsible for their folder. • Check folder frequently • Contains: homework, study guides, important notes, school updates, and graded papers • Keep at Home section: should be removed and not returned to school

  9. Homework • Homework is given as needed. We only give homework to reinforce a skill learned in class. We do not send home busy work. • Homework not done or forgotten will be made up at recess and counted as a miss. • Students are responsible to put their homework into their blue folder each evening.

  10. Homework Continued Spelling and Edit: Stay the same weekly • Spelling: Differentiated groups, homework is to study, list given Friday, test Thursday • Edit: Given Monday, five sentences assigned Monday, five Tuesday, edit quizzes based on the homework given each Friday

  11. Homework Continued • Reading Logs: We are switching to Storia online books. More information will follow. Logs to begin in October. • Reading: not nightly, sent home to enhance the use of quality vocabulary, based on words found in current reading material • Math: not nightly, most will be found in math journals

  12. Student VacationsFourth Grade Team Plan • Work will be given to student upon return from vacation Why? • Many changes to curriculum • Team planning, monitoring, adjusting lessons • Class could be ahead of plan or behind • Few worksheets used
