  1. NT 13—John 8 O my father—86

  2. The Woman Taken in Adultery (John 8:1-11) Read these verses and come up with three questions that you can ask your neighbor about this story.

  3. Woman Taken in Adultery—A Happy Ending “…And the woman glorified God from that hour, and believed on his name” (Inspired Version, John 8:11). “If Jesus were to stand by and be asked to judge those whom we accuse and should say to us, ‘He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her,’ and then should stoop and write in the sand, how many of us would feel to steal away ashamed, convicted in our own conscience? How sound is his counsel!" (N. Eldon Tanner, CR, Apr. 1972, p. 57.)

  4. Who’s Your Daddy? Name everybody that you can think of that you can possibly call “father”.

  5. Who’s Your Daddy? (John 8:18-19, 27-29, 33, 38-59) Who are the five fathers spoken of directly or indirectly in this discussion between Christ and the Pharisees? According to the Savior, what is the ultimate paternity test? What verse contains the paternity test? What did Jesus teach them that it takes to have God as your father? What did He say that really ticked the Jews off?

  6. Who’s Your Daddy? (John 8:18-19, 27-29, 33, 38-59 Who are the five fathers spoken of directly or indirectly in this discussion between Christ and the Pharisees? Heavenly Father, Abraham, Biological--Joseph (41), Satan (44), Jesus (58) According to the Savior, what is the ultimate paternity test? What verse contains the paternity test? (41) Jesus established that God is His Father because He does all the Fathers asks and does (John 5:19; 8:28-29)

  7. John 8 “The Scriptures inform us that Jesus said, As the Father hath power in Himself, even so hath the Son power—to do what? Why, what the Father did. The answer is obvious—in a manner to lay down His body and take it up again. Jesus, what are you going to do? To lay down my life as my Father did, and take it up again. Do we believe it? If you do not believe it, you do not believe the Bible. The Scriptures say it, and I defy all the learning and wisdom and all the combined powers of earth and hell together to refute it” (Joseph Smith, TPJS, 346).

  8. John 8 Back to the original question: Whom can you call ‘father’ (who’s your daddy) in light of the truth taught by the Savior “ye do the deeds of your father” (41)?
