Dificultades de afrontamiento, menor autonomía y mas baja autoestima. Mayor riesgo de realizar abuso físico o negligencia hacia el bebé (Cooper, Dunst & Vance, 1990; Drake, 1996; Hardy & Zarbin, 1991 y Osofsky, Hann & Peebles, 1993). Mayores niveles de estrés. Incapacidad de las adolescentes para asumir el rol materno. Alta incidencia de resultados negativos en el desarrollo en hijos nacidos de madres adolescentes. (Brooks-Gunn & Furstenberg, 1986 Chase-Lansdale & Brooks-Gunn, 1991;Culp, Osofsky, & O´Brien, 1996 y Pasino& whitman, 1993).
