SCOPUS – noen fakta • Startet utvikling i 2002 i samarbeide med 21 institusjoner , lansert i 2004 • Eier: Elsevier • Publikasjoner fra 7 ”sentrale” forlag • Referanse og siteringsdatabase • What does it cover: http://info.scopus.com/scopus-in-detail/facts/ • Siteringsbase fra 1996 – Siteringsanalyse (Citation tracker) • Medline og Compendex (CT, UT og MH termer er søkbare) inngår i basen og delvis emneord fra EMBASE • 100% dekning av MEDLINE titler • 3000 ”Article in press” titler • Totalt ca 40 mill ref • Pre (1823) -1995 (20 mill) har 80% av ref abstracts, men ikke referanser • 1996-dd har 78% av ref komplette metadata • Scopus gir abstracts og bibl data, mens Sci.Direct (SD) gir fulltekst • SD tidsskrifter indekseres nå av Scholar

Dekker • Updated daily, Scopus offers: • Nearly 18,000 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers, including coverage of • 16,500 peer-reviewed journals (inc > 1,200 Open Access journals) • 600 trade publications • 350 book series • Extensive conference coverage (3.6 million conference papers) • 40 million records, of which: • 20 million records going back to 1996 seeking to capture complete metadata (78% include references) • 20 million pre-1996 records captured without references go back as far as 1823.

Dekker - web • Scopus also offers full integration of the scientific web in its search results, with: • 435 million scientific web pages • 23 million patents from 5 patent offices (US Patent and Trademark Office, European Patent Office, Japan Patent Office, World Intellectual Property Organization and UK Intellectual Property Office) • "Articles-in-Press" from over 3,000 journals • Over 80 selected sources e.g. institutional repositories, digital archives and special subject collections made individually searchable via Selected Sources tab.

Innhold av patenter Patents in Scirus are obtained via a partnership with LexisNexis and include: • United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) from 1790 (grants and pregrants) • European Patent Office (EPO) from 1978 (grants and pregrants) • Japanese Patent Office (JPO) from 1976 (pregrants) • Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) from 1978 (pregrants) • UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) from 1916 (pregrants) • Full-text information for recent USPTO, EPO, WIPO's PCT and UKIPO patents is searchable on Scirus, as well as bibliographical information in English for JPO patents.
