  1. Perspective is a technique for representing 3-dimensional space on a 2-dimensional (paper) surface.

  2. Space as an Element of Art • Indicates areas between, around, above, below, or within something. • The 2 dimensional arrangement of objects in a photograph • Refers to the 3 dimensional illusion of depth in the image

  3. Vocabulary Horizon Line is the artist’s eye level….where the ground and sky seem to meet Vanishing Points are the points on the horizon line where all lines seem to meet. Orthogonal (convergence lines) Parallel lines that appear to converge or meet at the vanishing point

  4. One Point Perspective Means all sets of parallel lines will seem to converge on the horizon line at one point. This one point is often called the center of vision. One point perspective presents a dramatic view of deep space.

  9. Your Assignment… • You will photograph a series of 5 photographs using 1 point perspective. • It will be your choice if you work in color or black and white, at least 2 must be in black & white. • Save as: One Point Perspective 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
