  4. LCLS TEC vs Funding Funding = $315M ----- TPC = $315 Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  5. LCLS Organization (through CAM’s) Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  6. LCLS Contingency Assessment Undulator and XTOD are rechecking contingency numbers. Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  7. LCLS L1, L2, L3 Milestones • LCLS uses a hierarchy of milestones for reporting. • L1 - Reported to DOE-HQ (SC-1 Orbach) • L2 - Reported to DOE-SSO (LCLS FPD Lee) • L3 - Reported to LCLS PO (LCLS PD Galayda) • L1, L2, & L3’s are reviewed and monitored regularly by the LCLS PO. • Currently we have; • 7 L1 milestones • 33 L2 milestones • ~130L3 milestones all under configuration management. Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  8. LCLS Critical Procurements Tracking Responsible Managers: Please fill out your area and send back to Helen ASAP Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  9. LCLS Functional Specifications • LCLS needs some TLA’s • LCLS Physics Parameters Database (PPD) (Nuhn) • High-level database that contains all operating parameters for the LCLS. Web-available, maintained through the Project Office (Nuhn) • LCLS Global Requirements Document (GRD) (Galayda) • A single high-level document that specifies the performance requirements for the LCLS. Provides an overview of the LCLS requirements and its global functional goals and requirements need by the LCLS Systems to meet the global functional goals. • LCLS System Requirements Document (SRD’s) (SP’s) • System-level documents that specifies the performance requirements for each LCLS System. Provides the functional goals and requirements needed by each LCLS Systems to meet the GRD. • LCLS Design-to Documents (DTD’s) (SM’s) • System-and/or component level documents that specifies the ‘design-to’. Provides the functional goals and requirements needed by each LCLS Systems to meet the GRD. • LCLS Interface Control Documents (ICD’s) (SM’s) Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  10. LCLS EIR Review • EIR is scheduled for 1-4 June • DOE OECM has contracted to; • Burns & Roe Enterprises, Inc. (BREI) • Don Fultonberg, Project Manager • Art Martin, I&C and Team Lead • Brian Newnam, Laser Equipment • Jim Anderson, Accelerator and interface with SLAC • Howard Cohen, Accelerator Construction • John Sergentanis, Support System • Chandler Bijlani, Hazards.Safety Analysis and Risk Management • Dinos Nicolaou, IPS and Schedule and EVMS • Joe Scerbo, Proj Management, PC, LOE & Cost Estimating • BREI provides a validation to DOE that “the LCLS project scope and key performance parameters are well-defined and the project can be completed for the Total Project Cost (TPC) and schedule associated with the project baseline.” Mark Reichanadter, SLAC

  11. LCLS EIR Review • Review will start the afternoon of the 1st and finish by 4June.* • Agenda to follow later • Short briefing (summary presentations by PO and System Mgrs/Phys) • Breakout Briefings/interviews/discussions as needed to validate; • Project scope and planning • Integrated resource-loaded schedule development • Project management • Risk management and analysis • Safety/hazards analysis • Supporting cost estimate documentation • Start-Up and Test Program • * there is a possibility that the review will be pushed to the following week (8-11 June).
