  3. Who can say the two memory verses? • Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. • Daniel4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know thatthe most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

  4. Daniel chapter 7 1. Why are these same empires seen so differently and what is contrasted and why important? • These visions were given to very different people, whose perspective, purpose and stage of life were greatly different. • Nebuchadnezzar saw this great image to worship and pledge allegiance. • Daniel saw same empires as what they really were: ravenous beasts that trample and devour. • That we might see as God sees. In Daniel chapter 7 these empires are seen from God’s perspective that, No flesh shall glory before him, 1Cor.1:29.

  5. Daniel chapter 7 • Why the stress on "night" in verses 2,7,13? • Daniel 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. • “Night” = darkness which alludes to the spiritual darkness of these empires. It is stressed so that we see these kingdoms of men for what they truly are - cruel, corrupt and forms of idolatry. • This is an example of careful Bible reading and when appreciated helps to build faith and see from God’s perspective.

  6. Daniel chapter 7 3. V.2, What(in symbol) was the "great sea” and what arose from it? • Context is Mediterranean Sea (Eze. 47:15,19,20) wherethese four empires arose. The sea is a symbol of the “troubled” people who made up these empires. (Isa.57:20; Rev.13:11) • Isaiah57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. • Revelation13:11 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beastrise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. • Beasts in Daniel 7 are empires made up of people.

  7. Daniel chapter 7 4. V.4, What is the meaning when the lion is made to stand upon its feet with a man's heart? • This describes Nebuchadnezzar after he had recovered from Lycanthropy. • “man’s heart” as compared to a lion’s heart. This shows Nebuchadnezzar had grown spiritually as seen Dan. 4:37. • Daniel4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: 37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. • The lion with the two wings stood for the Assyrian and Babylonian empires.

  8. Daniel chapter 7 5.Verse 5, What is the significance of the 3 ribs between the teeth of the bear? • The answer is in Daniel 6:2 where the ribs correspond to the three presidents who were ripped out of the previous empire with Daniel being one. • Daniel 6:2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

R e v i e w • Daniel chapter 2 • The image • Daniel chapter 3 • Fiery furnace & image all of gold • Daniel chapter 4 • The tree (539 BC cut down + 7 times= 1980) • Daniel chapter 5 • The handwriting on the wall • When was Babylon captured by Cyrus? • 539 BC • Daniel chapter 6 • The lions den • Four beasts plus a little horn

  11. Daniel chapter 7 6. Why did the leopard have four wings? • Daniel7: 6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. • This describes the rapid expansion of the Grecian Empire. • What in nature has four wings? • The dragonfly. • What are the four heads? • The four generals that divided the Grecian Empire after Alexander’s death.

  12. Daniel chapter 7 7. Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; … and it had great iron teeth: and it had ten horns. • Why doesn't this fourth beast have a likeness in the animal kingdom? • Fortunately God did not create a beast that would be this dreadful. • Daniel 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

  13. Daniel chapter 7 8. What did the ten horns symbolize and how long do they give their power to the beast? • From Revelation 17:12 they symbolize 10 kingdoms. • Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet;(therefore future) but receive power as kings one hourwith the beast. • The context in Rev.17:12 is future when after Armageddon there will be ten kingdom that will be part of this beast that opposes Jesus. This period ends when the Jesus smites the image, Dan.2:35. • “one hour” (=1/12th day/Yr. = 30days/Yrs.)

  14. Jesus’ returns as a thief, Rev. 16:15. • Resurrection & Judgment, Dan. 12:2. • Marriage of Christ/Saints, Rev. 19:7-9. • Armageddon,Eze. 38-39:16; Rev. 16:16. • Jesus on David’s throne, Luke 1:32. • Gospel preached to the world, Rev. 14:6. • Ezekiel’s temple being built, Ez.40-44The image, Daniel 2:35 begins to stand all together as one, Psa.48:2-4 • The image guided by the “little horn” sees Jesus as the Antichrist, Psa.2:2 • Supper of the Great God, Rev19:17; Eze39:17 • Image - Babylon the Great broken in pieces all “together” as one, Dan.2:35. • Millennial Kingdom of God, Dan. 2:44. COMING EVENTS 30 Y E A R S

  15. Daniel chapter 7 8. What did the ten horns symbolize? • Ten kingdoms Rev.17:12. It is important to see this linkage to the ten toes of the image. This linkage is obvious in Rev.13:1 … “and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns … 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion …” • The context in Daniel 7:7 as compared to the future context of Rev. 17:12 is during the dark ages when were 10 kingdoms that supported this ten horn beasts.Isaac Newton saw these ten horns as: Vandals (Africa), Suevians (Spain), Visigoths, Alans, Burgunians, Franks, Britons, Huns, Lombards, Ravenna and these ten kings according to Gibbon adopted the laws and religion of Rome.

  16. Daniel chapter 7 9.Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouthspeaking great things. • What was the "little horn" a symbol of? • Horn = a power but little in physically power, but NOT in ecclesiastic power as seen by its mouth and eyes which give it the ability to see and speak throughout the earth. History confirms this was the Papal UniversalChurch.

  17. Daniel chapter 7 10. Verse 8 What is meant by it having "the eyes of a man" and a "mouth speaking great things"? • This is a symbol describing how this system sees through its priests i.e. in the confession box. • The mouth describes its ecclesiastical pronouncements i.e. "ex cathedra" which was shocking and far reaching. • (literally, "from the chair") which gives the pope’s pronouncements papal infallibility when it comes to doctrine and morals.

  18. Daniel chapter 7 11. What territories were the three horns ? • The Exarchate of Ravenna, (Comacchio & Ravenna)the Kingdom of the Lombards,(The country from Forli to Senicalli) and the State of Rome. • Pepin invaded Italy in 758 AD, and as recorded by Gibbon inThe Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, he conquered and gave to the Pope what became known as "the States of the Church" and symbolized by the triple crown. • They were three kingdoms of Italy uprooted from the Heruli, Ostrogoths and Vandals and known as: the Exarchate of Ravenna, the Kingdom of the Lombards, and the State of Rome. These states were further confirmed by Charlemagne. (Ency. Brit. 1968 ed., vol. 17, page 277)

  19. Daniel chapter 7 12. Who was the "Ancient of days"? • Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, … 10 and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. • Daniel7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to theAncient of days, and they brought him near before him. • “Ancient of Days” is a title and depends on the contexts as to who it represents. In v.9 it is Jesus and in v.13 God. • How Jesus could have this title of “Ancient of days” • Jesus has continued from BC 4 to the presence (2017 + 4 = 2021 X 365 = 737665 days) which is many more days then any other human being.

  20. Daniel chapter 7 13. Daniel7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. • What other book/chapter in the Bible tells about this beast being burnt up? • REV 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet(Pope) that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

  21. Daniel chapter 7 14. How long will nations exists into the millennial age? • Daniel7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. • 450 years nations will exist into the Millennial Age. (time = 360 years + season = 90 years)

  22. Daniel chapter 7 15. Why was Daniel grieved and troubled? • Daniel 7:15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. • The length of time and knowing this beast was “diverse” caused Daniel's heart to “grieve” for all who would suffer by it. • Daniel 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse(different) from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

  23. Daniel chapter 7 16. Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. • Why does it say four kings and not four kingdoms? • Each of these empires were known by the following four kings which arose making these kingdoms empires. • Babylon – Nebuchadnezzar • Persia – Cyrus • Greece – Alexander the Great • Rome – Augustus Caesar

  24. Daniel chapter 7 17. Does v.18 mean that the kingdom goes beyond the Millennium? • Dan.7:18, But the saints ... shall take the kingdom and possess the kingdom for (“ever” = <5705> “up to the time”), even for “ever” = <5957> and “ever” = <5957>). • Yes and easily verified by Daniel (Dan.7:4,9,11,12,13,18,22,25,26,28) and Paul in 1Cor.15:25-28 which says that at the end of the millennium, death will be no more and Christ will give the kingdom back to God that "God may be all in all". • Concordance definitions and by repetition this kingdom exists for ages and ages to eternity: • <5705> "ad"- KJV = till 11X, until 5X, unto 4X. Prep.= even to, until, up to, during. Conj. = until, up to the time. • <5957> “alam" - KJV = ever 12X, everlasting 4X, perpetuity, antiquity, for ever.

  25. Daniel chapter 7 18. Daniel 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; Why nails of brass? • ANSWER: This shows the Greek influence as seen in history by both its political(Capital – Constantinople) and religious (Greek Orthodox Church) parts.

  26. Daniel chapter 7 19. Daniel 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; • When does the "little horn" prevail against the saints? • It started about 530AD under Justinian and the code of Justinian which gave all of the imperial pronouncements the force of law and prevailed till the French Revolution. (530 + 42 months (42x30=1260 yrs.) = 1790 AD. • This was coupled with the decree of Phocus (606-610) making the pope the universal bishop which also prevailed for 1260 years till the pope was held captive by Garibaldi (1866-1870). • “time (360 yrs.) + times (360x2 = 720 yrs.) + ½ a time (360/2 = 180 yrs.) totals 1260 yrs.

  27. Daniel chapter 7 • What is the time period that the "little horn" prevails against the saints. • Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. • ANSWER - 1260 years - (Rev. 11:2,3; 12:14) • Revelation 11:2 … and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months (42X30 =1260). 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. Rev.12:14 And to the woman … where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time (360 + 720 + 180 =1260), from the face of the serpent.

  28. Daniel chapter 7 21. Who takes away the power of the "little horn"? • It began with the French revolution, then Napoleon and Garibaldi in 1870 however this little horn comes back to finally be taken away by Christ and the saints.

  29. Daniel chapter 7 • How can Daniel 7:26 be used against today’s "Antichrist Theory"? • Daniel 7:26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. • The key words is "unto the end” which says at sometime the dominion of the “little horn” is taken away and at the end time he has retained his authority again. • History shows this happened and by 1870 Garibaldi had taken took away the dominion of the Papacy. Today we see the Papacy regaining its authority. • At the end time it will be the Papacy that will oppose Christ because of a “strong delusion”, 2Thes.2:11. • 2 Thessalonians2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
