  1. Football Haya Abu Issa 8B

  2. Where did Football originate? The origin of football can be found everywhere in the world. The Chinese played football games that go as far back as almost 3000 years ago. The Romans and the Ancient Greeks played football so that they become stronger and to sharpen warriors for battles. Although England was where football actually started. It began in 1863 in England, when two football associations separated. In that case, the first football association was founded in England.

  3. Who made up the first organized set of rules for Football? A man called Ebenezer Cobb Morley who made a draft of the Laws of football. Ebenezer and the other co-authors agreed on those rules in a public house called Freemasons Tavern in London on the 26th October 1863. The rules were based on what the Cambridge Rules first drafted in 1848. The Cambridge Rules were also based on earlier attempts to make the different forms of a football game. They made rules so that there is more of a point to play the game and so that football can be played as a competition around the world with fair rules.

  4. How many countries play Football as their national sport? • Over 60 nations have football as a national sport. To make it short, the nations were: • South America • Western Europe • Eastern Europe • South East Asia • Middle East • African Nations

  5. Why do you think Football has become so popular around the world? Football is popular around the world because first of all, it is entertaining whether you are playing or watching. Secondly, it is a great sport for staying fit, especially for men. It strengthens the body and makes you tougher. Thirdly, football can be played anywhere and with a minimum of 2 people and a ball. Most sports need more than 2 players, and they need something to play with, like a net or a basket, but football doesn’t need that. It develops your skills and strategies very well and improves your abilities.

  6. Do you think there are different ways of playing, or styles, of Football in different areas around the world? I think that there is only one way to play football around the world. Since they are all playing in one competition, they follow the same rules. Although, they might have a different layout or plan, but the amount of players and the positions and the rules are all the same. If they weren’t the same, they wouldn’t be able to play against each other since each one has their own style.
