  2. Goals of MECMO Circuit • Decrease surface area • Decrease prime volume • Decrease blood product requirements • Minimize bleeding and thrombosis • Allow for safe transport of circuit

  3. Circuit Revisions • Change in oxygenator • Decreased length and diameter of tubing (1/4 inch to 3/16 inch) • Elimination of components without a biocompatible surface coating

  7. Conclusions • In patients less than 10kg there was less blood loss and decreased blood product requirements within first 72 hours of surgery. • No difference in thrombosis or circuit change • Console can be mounted to patient bed or pole allowing for easier transport.
