Use PowerPoint to keep track of these action items during your presentation • In Slide Show, click on the right mouse button • Select “Meeting Minder” • Select the “Action Items” tab • Type in action items as they come up • Click OK to dismiss this box • This will automatically create an Action Item slide at the end of your presentation with your points entered.   3. Contemporary Uses of Multimedia Applications Three main areas: • Business (e-commerce, presentations, teleconferencing, collaborative working) • Training ( CBT, simulations) • Home ( entertainment, edutainment, shopping)

  4. E-commerce • Electronic commerce is the buying and selling of good or services through online transactions conducted over computer networks • B2B • B2C • C2C

  5. Requirements for E-commerce • A merchant account • Lets the seller to take payments from customers • Online shopping cart • Lets shoppers order good 24/7 • Transaction software • Used to actually deliver the money

  9. Collaborative Working • This means work is undertaken by a group of people, not necessarily in the same location • Collaborative software runs on computer networks and allows people in different locations to work jointly on a project • Think Tank Video or Website • Web Ex

Simulations • A simulation is a multimedia application that uses graphics, photographs, sound and video to create a realistic representation of an environment • Used to allow users to experience, explore and understand the environment without the cost, danger or skills associated with the real thing
