The Responsibility of Voting: A Christian Perspective on Elections

In a pivotal reminder from historical figures like Rev. Jonathan Edwards and Samuel Adams, the importance of making informed and principled voting choices resonates strongly within the Christian community. As eligible voters, Americans are entrusted with a solemn duty to select leaders who embody God-fearing wisdom and alignment with Biblical values. This responsibility extends beyond the act of voting; it involves studying candidate positions, praying for guidance, and making choices that reflect one's faith and values. Key dates for the Texas General Election remind citizens to engage thoughtfully in this vital societal trust.

  3. Every American Christian who is eligible to vote does so: • By one’s absence; Failing to vote and allowing elected officials to be chosen by those who do not share the same values, or • Thoughtlessly; By voting out of ignorance or self-serving motivation, or • By becoming informed; Studying candidates’ positions on key issues, praying and casting a knowledgeable vote for candidates who most closely conform to Biblical principles of character and the vital issues of the day
