  3. USDA Odor Test Method A(active agents) -Prepare sample to recommended dilution. -Pour into stainless steel pan. -Drain from pan (10-15 seconds). -Rinse pan if required by category code. -Sniff (hold pan ~6-inches from face). -Product fails if majority detect odor. -3 panelists.

  4. USDA Odor Test Method B(fragrances) -Prepare sample to recommended dilution. -Pour sample into beaker. -Sniff (hold beaker ~6-inches from face). -Product fails if majority detect odor. -3 panelists.

  5. NSF Method(Proposed 2001) -Prepare sample to recommended dilution. -Dip stainless steel sheet in sample. -Drain stainless steel sheet (10-15 seconds). -Rinse stainless steel sheet if required by category code. -Sniff (hold pan ~6-inches from face). -Product fails if majority detect odor. -3 panelists.

  9. NSF Proposed Method- Revised - Prepare sample to recommended dilution. - Pour sample into stainless steel pan. - Drain pan (10-15 seconds). - Rinse pan if required by category code. - Sniff (hold pan ~6-inches from face). - 7-20 panelists (7 minimum). - Positive & negative controls.
