Video Gaming By Anthony McColl
Why do I like gaming? • Video Games are just like movies, except you can control what is going on within them. • There are many different puzzles to solve, making video games fun and exciting, which make me feel exhilarated. • Lastly, when I play against others, I like to pwn n00bs.
What kind of games do I like? • I like all sorts of video game genres, but these are my favorite: • MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) • FPS (First Person Shooter) • RTS (Real Time Strategy)
MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) • An MMORPG consists of creating a personal character used to play with, and follow the game’s story and gameplay. • MMORPGs consist of interacting with others around the world through the internet, while normal RPGs are not. • Here are some examples of some famous MMORPGs: ->
FPS (First Person Shooter) • FPSs are games where the player controls in the game through a first person view. • The goal of an FPS is usually related to shooting and gun warfare. • The GUI (Game User Interface) contains a HUD (Heads Up Display) making gaming in first person easier. The HUD could display anything from ammunition of the weapon being used, to your current health. • Here are some examples of some famous FPS games: ->

RTS (Real-Time Strategy) An example of some famous RTS games: • Real-time strategy games are a genre of computer war games which do not progress incrementally in turns. • The participants position and manoeuvre units and structures under their control to secure areas of the map and/or destroy their opponents' assets. • In a typical RTS it is possible to create additional units and structures during the course of a game. This is generally limited by a requirement to expend accumulated resources. These resources are in turn garnered by controlling special points on the map and/or possessing certain types of units and structures devoted to this purpose.
Here’s Another Video Example of the RTS game, “Starcraft 2”:
In Conclusion… • I hope you enjoyed my presentation on one of my favourite pass-times in life. • Be sure to try out the games introduced in this presentation if you are in to video games like I am. • And remember, always pwn n00bs with care. They may not be able to handle it. Thank You!
