  2. What is track and field ? • Athletic events that take place on a running track and a nearby field; track events and field events.

  3. D Hurdles • An upright frame, typically one of a series, that athletes in a race must jump over.

  4. Shot put • The shot put is a track and field event involving "throwing"/"putting" (throwing in a pushing motion) a heavy spherical object —the shot—as far as possible. The shot put competition for men has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival in 1896, women's competition began in 1948.

  5. D Discus • The discus throw ( pronunciation) is an event in track and field athletics competition, in which an athlete throws a heavy disc—called a discus—in an attempt to mark a farther distance than his or her competitors. It is an ancient sport, as evidenced by the 5th century BC

High Jump, Long Jump, Relay • High jump-An athletic event in which competitors jump over a bar that is raised until only one competitor can jump over it without dislodging it. • Long Jump- The long jump is to measure how far you can jump. • Relay- Relay is when four people enter a race and run ¼ of a lap and hand off a baton.
