  14. Membership Categories • National: $140 • Chapter-Only: $30 (limited benefits) • Full-Time Student: $30 (Evidence of full-time student status must be provided. Acceptable proof includes copy of class schedule or official letter from your institution. Student ID cards are not acceptable as proof of current student status)

GCCHIMSS Scholarships • Two $2,500 scholarships available to GCCHIMSS Members • One scholarship is available for undergraduate students and one for graduate students • Scholarships are available to part-time students • Applications are due in October of 2010 Scholarship Opportunities HIMSS National Scholarships • Three $5,000 scholarships available to HIMSS Members • Winners also receive an all-expense paid trip to the annual HIMSS conference (this year in Atlanta, GA) • One scholarship is available for undergraduates, one for graduate students, and one for Ph.D. students • Scholarships are available to part-time students • Applications are due in October of 2010

GCC Involvement for Students • Program Development Opportunities • Work with the GCC program committee to plan our chapter’s educational programs. • Work with the GCC Student Liaison to coordinate a guest lecturer, panel presentation or networking event within your program. • Coordinate a roundtable discussion on a topic of interest to our student members (e.g., health IT 101, employment opportunities in health informatics, etc.). • Networking and Education Opportunities • Network with industry leaders in the greater Chicago area. • Attend local chapter program to learn more about current topics in healthcare IT.
