  2. Course Description • Code: CWP 112 (WEBPG2) • Description: Web Page Design Authoring and the Internet 2 • Pre-requisite: CWP 111 (WEBPG1) • Web Development • Programming Subject • Language: PHP

  3. Course Objectives • Embed PHP scripts in HTML pages to create interactive web pages • Write effective and efficient PHP codes • Build real-world dynamic web sites • Manipulate data from web pages forms • Develop database-enabled web applications using PHP and MySQL

  4. Course Requirements • Students must have basic knowledge in: • HTML/XHTML • CSS • Basic Programming (at least one) • C/C++ • JavaScript • Java • Visual Basic • Logic Formulation • Database Concepts • Basic SQL Commands

  5. Course Requirements • Recitations • Seatwork (Lab Activities) • Quizzes (Hands-on and/or Written Exam) • Research Works / Assignments (Handwritten) • Major Exams • Final Project • Attendance: • 8 absences = DROP • Others • Must have Internet access outside the class

  6. Grading System (Prelim) • Cumulative Average • Prelim Grade • Prelim Exam: 40% • Quizzes: 40% • Class Standing: 20% • (Average of Seatworks and Assignments + Attendance + Recitations) / 3

  7. Grading System (Midterm) • Tentative Midterm Grade (TMG) • Midterm Exam: 40% • Quizzes: 40% • Class Standing: 20% • (Average of Seatworks and Assignments + Attendance + Recitations) / 3 • Midterm Grade • (TMG * 2 + Prelim Grade) / 3

  8. Grading System (Finals) • Tentative Final Grade (TFG) • Final Exam: 35% • Quizzes: 35% • Class Standing: 10% • (Average of Seatworks and Assignments + Attendance + Recitations) / 3 • Final Project: 20% • Final Grade • (TFG * 2 + Midterm Grade) / 3

Additional Class Rules • Assignment • Handwritten on pre-printed assignment answer sheet • Short bond paper, at least 80gsm, stapled, and not folded or rolled • No assignment = no attendance • Checking of Attendance • Present, 1 point, 15 minutes (Ex. 7:45 for 7:30 class) • Late, 0.5 point, >16 minutes (Ex. 7:46+ for 7:30 class)
