  1. Free fall and terminal velocity • Objective: • To describe why a resultant force of zero will cause an object to move at a steady speed in a straight line

  2. Constant speed • An object will continue to travel at a constant speed if the resultant force acting on an object is zero • Can you think of any examples of objects that travel at constant speed? • free fall

  3. Terminal velocity As an object falls in air: its speed increases. the air resistance force on it increases. the resultantforce on it decreases. its acceleration decreases

  4. Sketch a velocity time graph to show the free fallers movement
