Data Collection and Introduction Feedback for OCSA Students' Physical Fitness Research

Today, I will begin by collecting introductions from those students researching other questions. My goal is to provide feedback on your data collection methods. Following that, we will gather introductions from students investigating the fitness levels of OCSA students. Please dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat for our 20-minute data collection session. Remember to check the timer function on your phone or watch. Attendance and directions will begin our meeting, and I will compile the data into an Excel sheet later this afternoon.

  1. Today • I will collect introductions on those with other research questions first. • I want to give you feedback on your data collection. • Then I will collect introductions on those students investigating whether OCSA students are in shape. Next Block • Dress comfortably, bring a yoga mat and figure out the timer function on your phone or watch. • We will meet here for attendance and directions, then go downstairs for data collection. • This will take about 20 minutes. I will collect the data from everyone and post the data on an Excel sheet that afternoon.

  4. Remindermany of you left out details on how you will describe/summarize the data collected • This project goes over 3 of the 4 units of A.P. Statistics. • For Part 2 of your project, you will summarize and describe the data collected. • This means completing summary statistics (mean, median, std. dev., quartiles, etc. ) on the 6 sets of data. • This also includes making a specific type of graph displaying the 6 sets of data. Wednesday May 29th – We will meet in class and I will go over the basics on Excel again. Friday May 31st Tuesday and June 4th we will be in the IMMRC. Final Complete Projects are due June 6th.
