Jesus Is Lord • We must confess this truth Rom. 10:9 • To confess it, we must believe it Rom. 10:8 • This is necessary to be saved Rom. 10:10 • Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth Matt. 28:18 • We are to pray His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven Matt. 6:10 • Place on earth where we can most influence God’s will being done is in our hearts and minds

Jesus Is Lord • We must bring every thought into submission under Christ 2 Cor. 10:5 • What about our emotions? • Jesus cares about our feelings John 15:11 Philippians 4:4,6, Hebrews 4:15 • He has given commands for our emotions Romans 12:9-12, James 4:9-10, Luke 6:22-23 • A matter of will: God’s will our will • Can we really control our emotions? Yes

  5. You Can Obey Jesus! 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 • Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. • His commands are not burdensome 1 John 5:3 • Loving God is the necessary condition

Indications That Emotions Aren’t Controlled • Jonah 4:1-11 who chooses to be angry? • May be a reason to be angry Psalm 119:104, Ephesians 4:26-27 • Proverbs 6:32-35 implacablejealousy is expected • 1 Thess. 4:13 who wants to mourn? • Not as those who have no hope • Comfort with these words (truth) v.18 • Joy is fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22

Jesus is Lord of My Heart 1 Peter 3:15 • Perspective produces reasonsfor rejoicing • Luke 6:22-23; 2 Cor. 3:16-18 • What thoughts are attached to your feelings? • If thoughts incorrect, feelings will be, too • Like Cain Genesis 4:5-7; 1 John 3:10-12 • If thoughts correct, feelings will be, too • Perfect love casts out fear1 John 4:18 • Break emotional bond with world 1 John 2:15 • Make emotional bond with Christ John 14:23
