  5. Work with Planning • Inclusion of Air Quality in Local Plan • Involvement in master-planning of large sites • AQ Guidance for developers • Statutory consultees in development control

  6. Consultation • Integral to Action Planning process • Internal consultation day • External consultation day • Public consultation exercise

  7. Next Step • Public consultation – imminent • Meeting with SEPA and Transport Scotland re Harthill AQMA • Draft Action Plan finalised – Autumn 2009

  8. Hints from NLC Experience • Action Planning takes time !!!! • Crucial to make the right contacts and get the right people involved • Can be an uphill struggle as you can’t “see” air quality problem • Rome wasn’t built in a day !
