  1. Famous Museums in Amsterdam Amsterdam may be known as the Venice of the North or the City of Bikes, but there’s none quite like its museums. The absolute best museums and galleries in Amsterdam prove they’re just as accomplished in other art-related endeavours, too. Amsterdam is home to a variety of world-famous museums. No trip to the city is complete without stopping by the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum or Stedelijk Museum, but the city also has a multitude of treasures outside of the Museum District. A Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history in Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum is the most visited museum in the Netherlands.   2. 1.Anne Frank House Anne Frank House is a biographical museum located in central Amsterdam and is dedicated to the Jewish diarist, Anne Frank. The museum was constructed for the display of the artistic works of Anne Frank. The Anne Frank House is one of Amsterdam’s most visited museums. It includes the apartment where the Frank family hid from the Nazis and where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary. 2. Rijksmuseum

Its rich collection includes paintings from renowned Dutch masters Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Frans Hals and Jan Steen. The museum anchors an area called Museum Square, also home to the Van Gogh museum. There are plenty of galleries of Golden Age paintings. 3. Van Gogh Museum Van Gogh has the world’s largest collection of paintings from infamous Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890). It is very popular among visitors of Amsterdam, The Van Gogh Museum’s collection includes more than 200 paintings, 500 drawings and 750 letters created by the artist and is one of many Dutch museums dedicated to Van Gogh. 4. Museum van Loon This historical home and museum is a delightful place to spend the afternoon. It’s definitely one of the best lesser-known museums in Amsterdam.
