In this engaging social studies lesson, students will explore how First Nations people taught early settlers to use canoes for transportation. They will participate in a reenactment of historical scenes and have the opportunity to create their own canoe models. The activity will include a guessing game based on video clues, discussions on the benefits of canoe travel over ships, and the concept of portaging.
