  1. Enabling Grids for E-sciencE O-E-14 Operation of the production Grid core software services, catch-all services for international VOs, catch-all CA Christos Kanellopoulos, GRNET/AUTH Ioannis Liabotis, GRNET www.eu-egee.org EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 February 1st, SA1, Amsterdam

  2. Enabling Grids for E-sciencE Core Services • the VO management service (VOMS) • the File catalogue and transfer services (LFC and FTS) • Job management services (WMS) • Information services (BDII) • Security Services (MyProxy, EGI Catch All CA) EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 February 1st, SA1, Amsterdam 2/8

  3. Enabling Grids for E-sciencE For Whom ? • Core Services for Catch All VO • Currently na4.vo.eu-egee.org (need to change name ?) There is no usage in the NA4 VO • Services:VOMS: France, WMS: Greece (Also France, Poland) LFC: France, Greece • Core Services for new or small VOs ? • Currently as part of the Seed Resources • Core Services for large international VOs EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 February 1st, SA1, Amsterdam 2/8

  4. Core Services for Large International VOs Enabling Grids for E-sciencE • Need to communicate with VOs to arrange setup if necessary • HEP VOs: Mainly supported by WLCG. We expect this to continue • Biomed: Mainly support by France (VOMS, LFC). GR Already support WMS • ESR: Mainly support by NL. GR already supports WMS • COMPCHEM: Mainly support by Italy (VOMS, LFC) GR already supports WMS EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 February 1st, SA1, Amsterdam 3/8

  5. Enabling Grids for E-sciencE Next Steps • First Steps • Start with DTEAM. Coordinate with CERN the transition of DTEAM VO • Identify which core services for which VOs • ROCs to notify if they have problems supporting international VOs and decide on a case by case basis what services we will be hosting. • For each core service: • Service Setup • Testing period • Database replications (if needed) • Users Notification • Sites configuration changes EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 February 1st, SA1, Amsterdam 4/8

  6. Enabling Grids for E-sciencE EGI Catch All CA • EGI Catch All CA will offer Catch All services for the EGI member countries that do not have a national CA yet. • Take over from the EGEE Catch All CA and the SEE-GRID CA • In contact with CNRS (SEE-GRID CA is operated by GRNET/AUTH) • Issue1: What will be the scope of the CA? • Support users in non EGI member countries? • Issue 2: There was no EGEE Catch All CA. CNRS CA was acting also as EGEE Catch All CA • EGI Catch All CA needs to go through the EUGridPMA Certification Process (next meeting April 19-21) EGEE-III INFSO-RI-222667 February 1st, SA1, Amsterdam 5/8
