There were times when I felt that the performers were making even the Beatles sound somewhat lacking in musical texture."

  11. The Story Behind the Music… Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi, and Frankie Valliplayed as the Four Lovers until they hooked up with keyboardist-songwriter, Bob Gaudio, and producer-songwriter, Bob Crewe. They then became The Four Seasons and worked as back-up singers for Crewe’s other artists. In 1962, with their first number one hit song “Sherry” the Four Seasons took off. The Four Seasons were able to hold their ground against the “British Invasion” of the ‘60’s. The Four Seasons had 14 top-ten hits between 1962-67.

  12. Jersey Boys chronicles all the up’s and down’s that went along with the Four Seasons rise to the top. In the 70’s, after tension between members, Valli became a solo act with Gaudio writing and Crewe producing. The Original Four Seasons didn’t play together again until 1990. The Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Jersey Boys gives you a behind the scenes look as to the reasons that the band broke up.

  13. The Real Life Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Three of the members of the original Four Seasons are still alive today. Nick Massi (left) passed away on December 24, 2000 due to cancer.
