  2. Wegmans is a local grocery store that prides itself in both quality products and excellent customer service • Every location has service desks where employees handle customer refunds

  3. Business Problem • Current database only tracks customer returns based on amount, not items • No information on what was returned, why, or how the money was refunded • Systems purpose isn’t even for refunds, mostly used for updating customer information

  4. Opportunity for Business Value • Allows different departments to track which items of theirs have been returned • Organize and expand on customer returns, and track certain department returns • Help minimize shrink

  5. Allows desk to determine if customers are abusing generous return system • Ability to adjust to problems based on complaints • Improves customer service
