  2. Alternative Education Center • Location: 1299 E. Yukon. • Starting time: 8:00 a.m. intake • 8:30 a.m. No students will be taken after this time • Release time 11:00 a.m. for those who were prompt at 8:00 a.m. • 11:30 a.m. for those who were present at 8:30

  3. Alternative Education Center • Students must be prepared with work and provide school I.D. at the door. • Schools should inform personnel at AEC prior to student arrival – preferably two days before student arrival by e-mail to (Mr. McMinn). • Schools should provide work for students attending Saturday School or inform us if student is enrolled in Credit or six weeks recovery through Odysseyware. Failure to do so may compromise student attendance or credit. • Cell Phones – Must be turned off at all times: • Phones will be permitted only to call home prior to release or in case of an emergency – should the student be caught texting, using, or talking on the phone - the day will not be counted.

  4. Alternative Education Center Dress Code • Students from schools that have a Uniform policy must wear their school uniforms. All Junior High Students except Crocket (otherwise, student will be sent home) • The students cannot wear shorts, mini-skirts, or skorts. Applies to Junior High and High School Student alike. • Pants must be worn at the natural waist, “NO SAGGING.” Pants with more than one inch excess in the waist will not be allowed. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Pants and shirts cannot be rolled. • Pants are to be worn with a belt at all times. • No holes or slits above the knee on pants.

Alternative Education Center Dress Code • If you wear an under-shirt or a belt buckle, the District prohibits pictures, symbols, emblems, or writing on clothing, accessories which are lewd, offensive, vulgar, or obscene; advertise or depict tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs or any other illegal substance; nor may clothing refer to satanic, cult or gang activities, or represent death and/or violence (this includes skulls). • Shoes cannot have “TRUE RED OR BLUE” anywhere on their shoes. • Flip-flops that follow the dress code are acceptable. • No soft sole shoes allowed, specifically prohibited types of footwear include bathroom slippers/shower shoes, or any foot wear intended for indoor wear.

  6. Alternative Education Center Dress Code • No Taps, metal plates, steel-toed shoes or cleats on shoes are allowed. • Shoes equipped with roller blades/wheels are not allowed. • No shaved/cut eyebrows or shaved images in the hair. • No vulgar language will be tolerated. • No unnatural hair color allowed. • No body piercings of any kind allowed. This includes Eyes, Ears, Nose, Lips, Chin, and side of the face. • No hats, caps, sweat bands, bandanas, visors, or head coverings are allowed.

  7. Alternative Education Center Dress Code • No gang signs or paraphernalia are allowed to be displayed by students. This includes notebooks, clothing, etc. • No alcohol, cigarettes, drug paraphernalia or weapons. • No candy, gum, drinks, or cough drops are allowed. • Talking to a friend or neighbor in class may cause student to be sent home or day not to be counted / credited. • No sleeping in class. (This will cause your day not to be counted)

  8. Infractions • Any violation of Saturday School rules may be cause for student to be sent home and credit for time served will not be awarded or count. • The second time the student attends Saturday School and is sent home, the student will not be allowed to come back to Saturday School for the remainder of the semester.

  9. Credit appeal guidelines • Please e-mail Mr. McMinn and inform him of: • Number of hours the student is needing to make up. • Extenuating circumstances (if the student will need extra time or leave early) • Campus and principal contact info.
