How To Enter the Classroom • Line up silently outside the door along the hallway • DO NOT ENTER until I ask you to come in • I should not be able to hear you • Enter quietly and take your seat • You may sit where you like unless I tell you other wise • Once I close the door you are considered tardy • I will give 5 minutes between periods
What to do once you come in • Check the “Get In Gear” (GIG) board for instructions or an activity • Start IMMEDIATELY once you get to your seat • There should be no talking • Wait for attendance to be called • Take out any homework that is due
If you need something: • Raise your hand • 1 finger “I wish to speak” • 2 fingers “I would like to leave my seat” • 3 fingers “I need help” • Need to use Bathroom/Drink of water • Raise your hand with 2 fingers • Once I give you permission take the pass from my desk • Only one student at a time
What to do when you’re done: • If you’re taking a test: • Flip the test over and raise your hand • Once I have collected the test you may work on something else • When you are done you may: • Read a book • Draw something • Work on other schoolwork • When you are done you MAY NOT: • Talk
End of Class Procedure • DO NOT pack up until I tell you to • DO NOT leave your seat until I ask you to line up • You should line up silently • You should not leave the classroom until I tell you to go • Please push in your chair
