Beginning with the Patient and Clinician in Mind Connected Health • Simple Term that captures the essence of today’s healthcare solutions/ecosystems • Successful IT solutions have to mimic the workflow and use cases of today’s • patient journey • The workflow involves the patient journey across multiple care providers, serviced by multiple different parties. These can be private or public providers of health care. example: a hospital, a GP’s office, lab or DI clinic • A team (vs.1) of clinicians need to be engaged from the start of the journey. They need to be part of the team • Intra and Inter country integration is also becoming a hot topic with Europe leading the charge. Geographic centers of excellence in medical treatments are emerging. Example – patients in European countries routinely fly to different countries for various specific treatments.
