Vision To provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

Impact A Harris Survey of Club alumni reports: 90% of alumni graduate high school 85% of alumni say Club staff taught them right from wrong 67% of alumni say the Club kept them out of trouble with the law 80% of alumni say the Club had a positive impact on their attitude toward fitness health 69% of alumni say the Club had a positive impact on their emotional life

  4. Demographics • Ages 6 – 18 • 791 total members (527 males, 264 females) • 45% White, 32% Black, 20% Biracial, 2% Hispanic/Latino, 1% Asian • 61% single parent households • 49% free or reduced lunch

  5. Mission To provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to- 1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever

Research shows that at-risk children with a Big are: Impact 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs 27% less likely to begin using alcohol 52% less likely to skip school 37% less likely to skip a class more confident of their performance in schoolwork able to get along better with their families.

Program Information Community Based Club Mentoring Age range: 6 – 15 Time commitment: 45 min. to 1 hour weekly during program time Location: at the Boys & Girls Club Activities: reading, playing games, talking, eating lunch, homework, crafts, etc. Length of commitment: at least one calendar year • Age range: 6 – 15 • Time commitment: 2 -3 times per month for 2 hours or more (don’t forget drive time) • Location: anywhere in the community approved by parent/guardian • Activities: park, library, zoo, sports events, pool, mall, museums, ice cream etc. • Length of commitment: at least one calendar year
