Lanier Technical College – Pervasive Green Vision Because renewable energy, green building, and natural resource conservation are the future of products and work processes, LTC will become the leading energy and natural resources technologies workforce training center for Georgia LTC will implement energy and resource conservation practices in every college site and program across its eight-county area LTC will support, stimulate, and promote renewable energy, green building, and resource conservation initiatives for our strategic partners – local governments, schools, businesses, industries, economic development groups, and others – green practices will become standard practices in our area

Lanier Technical College - Green Initiatives Programs January - PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge • 40-Contact Hours of PV Systems Instruction • 14 Three-Hour Sessions, Tuesday and Thursday Evenings • Learning Objectives Indentified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) • Upon Completion of the Course, Students Are Eligible to Take the NABCEP-Issued PV Entry Level Knowledge Exam • Successful Examinees Will Be Qualified as Candidates for the Internationally Recognized NABCEP PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge Credential Starting January at the Lanier Technical College North Fulton Solar Training Center in Alpharetta

Lanier Technical College Area - Green Model Growth Pervasive Green Model Growth for the LTC Region • Continue to develop and promote green programs and demonstration projects throughout the eight-county area, with emphasis on growth in under-served counties and on growing workforce demand • Develop new natural resources programs and services focused on water quality, conversation, and preservation • Continue collaboration with local governments, school systems, chambers, and others to expand green markets and to provide the trained workers needed to achieve area green initiatives

Georgia and Southeast - Green Model Replication Green Model Replication for Georgia and the Southeast • Share standardized credit program curricula among all Georgia technical colleges • Make credit program curricula and best practices available to all educational entities and green/energy professional organizations • Encourage other TCSG colleges and similar colleges in other states to use the seven “pervasive green” strategies in the LTC model

Georgia Technical Colleges - Green Model Potential Green Model - Pervasive Green Potential In FY 2008, Georgia technical colleges • offered more than 600 technical programs • had 145,990 technical program, 138,575 business and industry, 45,235 continuing education, and 90,567 adult education students – a total of 420,367 students • worked with 171 Chambers of Commerce/Development Authorities • provided outreach to Georgia’s 1,609,681 public school students • provided contract training for 2,326 companies and approved Retraining Tax Credits valued at $48,083,059 Georgia technical colleges are small enough to act quickly to promote change; together, they are large enough to foster broad scale sustainability. Using the LTC model, technical colleges can help sustainability become standard practice in Georgia.
