10. Priesthood (Consecrated for Life) • Takes vows to follow Christ with an “undivided heart” • Generally make 3 vows: poverty, chastity, and obedience • Religious or Consecrated Life (not ordained) • Monks, friars, brothers, sisters, nuns • vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience Catholic vocations

11. Diaconate • participates in sacramental preparation; • preaches, teaches, counsels and provides spiritual guidance; • may baptize, witness marriages and preside at wake services; • may be married

12. Missionary life • All baptized Christians are called to be missionaries (to witness to Christ’s love) but God calls some to a special ministry that invites them to leave their own country and culture to spread the Gospel

13. Missionary (continued...) • can be lay people, religious sisters, brothers or priests •  witness to the Gospel, not simply by preaching verbally, but by listening and learning from others • work is varied: health care, social work, education, or community development

14. Married life • vow to love and honour each other, to be true to each other • supporting each other in your professions, serving the community, and being kind to neighbours • parenthood. • Single life • committed to a life of loving God and others • dedicate their time, gifts and resources to church and to their communities
