  4. The upper-left corner has an applications menu with links to a variety of Web applications. Those applications can be permanently lodged as narrow tabs between that menu and ordinary browser tabs. Although screen real estate is tight--especially given the presence of a clock and status icons to indicate Wi-Fi connections and the like in the upper right--more than one browser can be open at a time even if others are hidden in the background.

  5. 1. First download the installation file for either Vmware, VirtualBox or USB from http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/ I will explain the USB way

  6. 2. Once downloaded, locate the file , use an extracting program such as WinRAR or 7zip to extract the IMG file . 3. Use “Windos Image Writer” then select the IMG file and choose USB from the menu then click “Write” 4. Attach your USB to a machine and enter the BIOS setup. Go to startup sequence and set the USB port to boot first 5. Save changes and exit. The computer will now boot up with Chrome OS

  8. The main applications I have chosen for this project that works well with School environments are: Google Docs: Students and teachers can open and edit their documents quickly. No more distractions like USB keys, outdated file attachments, or confusing client software. ChromeBooks: Chromebooks improve the ease of teaching and learning without the distraction of technology challenges. They boot in 8 seconds and resume instantly -- eliminating the typical downtime wasted while traditional computers start up and connect to a network.

    One of chromes main aims is to ensure it has the fastest boot-up time of any operating system. It is currently logged at starting up within 7 seconds. As most things for chrome OS is stored on a cloud, there is no need for extensive amounts of hardware like HDD’s to exist. As the OS on its own isnt a large installation, it can be done within minutes. At the moment, installing from a usb does not require it to go through any additional installation processes. Its plug and play.
