  2. Chicago Scholars Application You must complete your Chicago Scholars application (including requesting your letters of recommendation) by Tuesday, January 17th.

  3. What do you think the definitions of the following terms are? Write in complete sentences. • Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) • Unmet Need Do Now

  4. Go to the website: www.edulaunchpad.com • Click on Search Colleges • Then click on Tools and Calculators • Then click on EFC Estimator Sample EFC Calculator

  5. Unmet Need= Direct Cost-Gift $- EFC Scholarships and Grants Out of Pocket+ Loans +Work-Study For this example: Direct Cost= $40,000 EFC= $140

  6. Look at Award Letters Determine the Unmet Need for each offer 2. Determine the Out-of-Pocket expense for attending each school
