  1. NC826 Extended Project Qualification (AQA Level 3) The Extended Project is a single piece of work of your own choosing that requires evidence of planning, preparation, research and independent working.

  2. What are the benefits for me? • UCAS points are the same as for AS Level • A* = 70 points • A = 60 • B = 50 • C = 40 • D = 30 • E = 20

  3. Where It Will Lead? • Universities have welcomed the Extended Project for its evidence of your ability to undertake extensive independent work. • In addition to providing excellent preparation for university study, it develops skills necessary for progression in today’s work environments

  4. What will I do?

An Extended Project could be, for example: •a design •a report with findings from an investigation or study •an extended essay presenting an argument •an artefact - CD, DVD, exhibition piece •a performance, together with production notes You might use your project at interview stage for Higher Education and/or in your personal statement on the UCAS form.

  6. Assessment You have to complete a Production Log which details the stages of planning and realisation of the project, and its final presentation. Depending on the subject area or topic you have chosen, you can submit a variety of evidence

  7. Your evidence may include: •an artefact, model or construction •a CD, video or DVD of performances or activities •an audiotape or multimedia presentation •a journal of activities or events •a slide- or PowerPoint presentation •a photographic record of your project

  8. How long should it be? • You must also submit a Written Report of between 1000 and 5000 words.
