Understanding Types of Removal Storage: Floppy Disks, CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, and Flash Drives
This article explores various types of removable storage options: floppy disks, CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, and flash drives. Floppy disks, once a standard for data transfer, have low capacity and lifespan but offer portability. CD-ROMs are known for their larger storage capacity but lack rewrite capabilities. DVD-ROMs provide significant data storage advantages but are also read-only. Flash drives are popular for their compactness, high storage capacity, and durability. Learn the pros and cons of each type and their relevance in today’s digital landscape.

Pros and Cons • No real major pro • Low storage • Low life span • bigger
CD Rom • It stands for Disk Read Only Memory • Used for storing graphics, text, and audio • It has 2 sectors • Mode 1: 2,048 bytes • Mode 2: 2,336 bytes

DVD Rom • It stands for Digital versatile disc, read only memory • Some Data is already on the DVD Rom when the consumer purchases it
Pros and Cons • Helps share large amounts of data • Inability to erase and change saved data • You can purchase a rewriteable DVD ROM but they are more expensive
Flash Drive • It is one of the most used removable storage • It was mainly created to replace floppy Disks • Holds lots of data for a small device
