  2. All IB students earn an Advanced Studies Diploma! IB courses are mixed with electives to add to your learning  Choose classes both for future knowledge and fun Advanced Studies 24 credits 4 Math 4 English 4 Social Studies 4 Science 3 Foreign Lang. 2 P.E. 2 Electives + 1 Arts 9 SOL’s 2 from each discipline 1 extra IB & Chesapeake

  3. Block Scheduling • 4 classes in the fall, and 4 in the spring. • Alternating for music/chorus with P.E. (called A-day, B-day classes) • In the 11th and 12th grade, almost all classes alternate for IB students

  4. Clubs Art Band Ecology Debate Key Club SCA Stage Crew The list goes on & on… Athletics (just a few!) Fall: football, cross-country, volleyball Winter: basketball, cheerleading, swimming Spring: soccer, track, tennis Honor Societies- something to work towards! NHS MNHS Things to do… Keep yourself involved!

  5. OSHS Tidbits... • There’s no pool!! • Agendas are valuable, hold on to yours • Lunches are 30 minutes, you can sit wherever you want. A lot of IB students sit together, just look for them! • You can go to your locker or restroom in between classes as long as you get to class on time. Where’s my locker??? • Lock-outs count! What’s a “lock-out”??? • School starts at 8:40, but the building opens at 8:00 (and so does Guidance!)

  6. More Tidbits! • The “Pit” is the big staircase. It’s usually VERY crowded, so avoid it if you have little time to get to class • The EBB shows announcements in the morning (Tiger News Network) and throughout the day • Most students are picked up from afterschool activities at the horseshoe, it’s also where the doors are opened early

Testing Colleges Problems Good news  Advice Procedure… Ask to sign up to be called down Wait for your pass OSHS Counseling Department

  9. Do you have Tiger Spirit?? • This might not have been your home school, but now it is!!! • Get involved • Be friendly • Participate • Have a great year • Make this school YOURS!!!!
