  1. What it Takes to Finish Luke 14:25-35

  2. Unwavering Love (Vs. 25-27) • Define: marked by firm determination or resolution; not shakable. • Firm, steadfast, unbendable, unfaltering, unshakeable. • Vs. 26 – Does Jesus literally mean “Hate?” • Jesus tells us that those who do not place Him first “cannot be My disciple.” • Vs. 27 – Are you just a believer or are you a cross bearer? • Again, Jesus says if you are not living in such a way that demonstrates this you “cannot be My disciples.”

  3. Plan to be a Disciple. (Vs. 28-33) • Jesus teaches that without planning before we start something, we are doomed to end in failure. • Do not just become a Christian, plan to be a disciple. • Who is our enemy we must continue to fight to “finish for Christ?” • Satan • Vs. 33 – Jesus teaches us that if you are not willing to planto be a Christian, planto change your life for Him, and planto forsake everything for Him you “cannot be My disciple.”

  4. Do Not Lose Purpose. (Vs. 34-35) • The same is true for our walk with the Lord, but Jesus expects us to continue to flavor the world with the Gospel. • If we lose flavor as Christians, Jesus tells us exactly what we are good for, “neither fitfor the land nor for the dunghill, but men throwit out.” • Vs. 35 – “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” • When Jesus uses this phrase He is commanding us to hear and to applyHis teaching to our lives to be found faithful.
