Change is a Process not an Event….. •Evi Mamacou•Effective teacher teams : A challenging issue as teaming is not part of our educational culture . •An individual effort undertaken for a sixth grade staff meeting where I participated as a member of staff and not as Principal of High School. 1
Connections with Colleagues - Διασυνδέσεις με συναδέλφους • I didn’t discuss anything with anyone . I felt I wanted to take part in a stuff meeting that would be slightly different from the ones we are used to. • A meeting where instead of telling people what they are expected to do they would hear what they did very well and they would be asked to suggest what we can do to improve our work, solve problems e.t.c • All this had to take place in 45 minutes…. 2
Successes - Επιτυχίες • Success was the fact that I heard colleagues expressing ideas for the first time in my two years tenure as Principal. • Success was that colleagues shared creative ideas with the rest of teachers and allowed space for collaborative climate. • Success was that I personally felt that colleagues under particular circumstances would open up. 3
Challenges - Δυσκολίες • The fact that distrust and sometimes indifference characterize such meetings was a challenge I was not sure I would be able I could handle. 4
