  2. Columbine massacre On April, 20, 1999 Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold sent suburban Colorado and all of America into shock when they brought home made bombs and guns to school with the intention to create the largest school shooting in America. A total of 15 people, including the shooters, were killed and 23 were injured. Had the home made explosives worked properly the death would have reached an estimated 400-600 deaths. According to witness testimonies and surveillance tapes, the shooting began at 11:19 am and ended at 12:08 pm after the two boys shot themselves in the library.

  3. It started before it began Harris and Klebold carefully planned the attack on their own high school. Investigators found journals, notes, videos, statistics of the busiest times/places of the schools, and materials to make home made bombs through out the belongings of the shooters. Several prom posters around school had the prom date, April 17, crossed out and replaced with “April 20-It’s coming.” On the morning announcements the day of the shooting a message scrolled across the screen at the end saying “today is not a good day to here.” Also, several witness testimonies state the boys were laughing and enjoying themselves during the shooting.

  4. World trade center-round 1 In 1993 a terrorist bomb exploded in the parking garage of the World Trade Center. The explosion left a 60 foot wide crater killing 6 people and injuring over 1,000. The bomb did not do the critical damage it was intended to do. However, repairs to the tower totaled over $500 million dollars.

  5. History repeats itself Within days of the World Trade Center bombing, several radical Islamic Fundamentalists with relations to Al Qaeda were arrested, putting Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden on the FBI’s top ten most wanted list for the first time. The mastermind behind the bombing was not caught until 2 years later. After his arrest, he stated that his only regret was that the explosion did not cause the tower to collapse and take down its twin as planned. The next time Al Qaeda attacked the Twin Towers, they made sure both towers fell.

  6. O.J. Simpson trial In 1995, former professional football player, O.J. Simpson, was tried on two counts of murder. The trial lasted 9 months, and on October 3, 1995 Simpson was acquitted due to reasonable doubt about the DNA evidence.

  7. Trial of the century Simpson’s murder trial was nationally televised. Due to the fame of the plaintiff, the received so much attention across the nation, it was called the trial of the century and was at the time the most publicized criminal trial in American history. National surveys taken at the end of the trial showed substantial differences between the opinions of white and black people on Simpson’s guilt.
