JOSE FABELLA MEMORIAL HOSPITALDEPARTMENT OF RADIOLOGYACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT January – December 2004 The Radiology Department performed 10,858 x-ray studies and 2,525ultrasound examination in the year 2004. In the x-ray division, the majority of radiographic examinations remained to be routine plain x-ray studies and only less than hundred was the number of special x-ray procedures with contrast particularly IV urogram and barium enema. Most of x-ray procedures were cases of NICU 5,484(50.50%) and OB 1,758 ( 16.19%). In the ultrasound section, the most frequent study performed was pelvic ultrasound 1292 (51.17 %) followed by transvaginal sonogram 816 (32.32%). There was an increase of 14.31 % in x-ray and while a decrease of 27.84 % in ultrasound compared with statistics of the year 2003. STAFF DEVELOPMENT : Two Radiologists ( Medical Specialist II) attended the Annual Convention of the Philippine College of Radiology last February 2004 in Manila and also at the Joint Annual Convention of CT-MRI Society of the Philippines and Ultrasound of the Philippines last October 2004 in Manila. One Radiologist(Medical Specialist II) attended the Teaching Seminar of CT-MRI Society of the Philippines last May 2004 Radiological Technologists attended Post Graduate Course in Radiology at University of Santo Tomas last November 2004 and also at Annual Convention of Society of Government Radiologic Technologists of the Philippines held at Baguio city last November 2004
