What is Audit? • Audit is the examination of an entity’s financial statements by an independent third party to ensure statements are in conformity with generally accepted accounting principals • As the third party, Deloitte issues an opinion that provides reasonable assurance on those financial statements • Oversight provided by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT WORKING ON AN AUDIT • Where do you work?At the client; rarely in the office so we aren’t “cubicle dwellers” • Who do you work with?A team of 2 to 6 other people (teams consist of First Years, Second Years, Seniors, Managers, Senior Managers, Partner/Director); The best part about teams: Each person “supervising” you has DONE what you are DOING. • What do you do?  Audit financial statements (Partner issues opinion); or perform quarterly reviews (a “check-up” of financial performance); perform testing of Internal Controls (Sarbanes Oxley requirements) • Who do you interact with? The senior management, accounting, sales, human resources, engineering, and operations personnel at the Company. • Who are the best candidates?  People who are effective communicators, flexible, organized, and reliable.
