  1. By Ryan Monteverde, Kyle Redmond and Thomas Moczydlowski Inquisition: an Exciting Presentation

  2. The Inquisition: What is it? The Inquisition is the trials that heretics were put on so they would change their mind on the heresies. If the heretics did not change their mind, they were severely punished and sometimes even killed. Heretics were considered traitors and hated by all. Heretic being tortured.

  3. The Inquisition: How long did it last? • The Inquisition started around 1184 A.D. and ended around 1860. They separated the Inquisition into four parts, the Medieval Inquisition (1184-1230s), the Spanish Inquisition (1478-1834), the Portuguese Inquisition (1536-1821) and the Roman Inquisition (1542-1860). Priest trying to convince heretic to change his mind.

  4. Torture: Do you mean like going to school? • No, I don’t mean like going school. This torture is very painful and gruesome. It involved the wheel (pictured), whipping, water torture and the limb stretcher. These tortures were meant to convince heretics to stop there heresies. The torturing worked on most but not all. If you did not change your mind on the heresies, you were killed.

  5. Whoa! WHY DIDN’T PEOPLE STOP THE TORTURING?!? • The torturing methods were common practices at the time. Though Catholics thought torturing was necessary, all other non-Catholics thought that the Catholics were taking it to far. They did not approve. Water torture
