  3. Illuminant • refers to a lamp or similar devicethat gives off light

  4. Beacon • an illuminated or unlighted aid to ships

  5. Daybeacon • also called a daymarker • Lighthouses have shapes and colorings so that you can see them during the day • helps navigators find their location

  6. GALLERY • on a lighthouse tower, a platform or walkway or balcony located outside the watch room

  7. KEEPER • the person who takes care of the light in the lighthouse.

  8. TOWER • structure supporting the lantern room of the lighthouse
