  1. Blessed Sacrament Mother’s Guild Newsletter October 17th , 2011 From the Desk of Mrs. Magnusson  Christmas Crafts Table still looking for donations. Please contact Izz Marani or Helene Maiello. Sweeps and Class Actare still collecting money for their tables. Class Act is $3.00 per child and Sweeps is $10.00 per family. If you have not sent it in already please send it before the end of October. Sweeps is still collecting any scratch off Lottery tickets & liquor bottlesyou may want to donate. Raffle donations are needed and are being accepted. If you are a business owner, home-based business owner or your family or friends own a business and you would like to donate something, please contact Joanne Rubano, Dorey Houle, or Patricia Hughes (Sweeps Committee).  If your business is not one that has actual items to donate we will also accept monetary donations that will allow us to purchase larger items like bikes, game systems, ipods, etc. We will proudly display your donation with full promotion! Dear Parents, At this time, I wish to give the results of the 2010 – 2011 State Tests Grade 4 ELA 67% at above level Math 81% at or above level Science 87% at or above level Grade 6 ELA 51% at or above level Math 59% at or above level Grade 8 ELA 62% at or above level Math 45% at or above level Science 79% at or above level Regents 13 students took the test and 13 scored at or above level Religion Grades 3 to 8 Gr. 3 97% at or above level Gr. 4 83% at or above level Gr. 5 76% at or above level Gr. 6 80% at or above level Gr. 7 64% at or above level Gr. 8 34% at or above level CHRISTMAS FAIR NEWS Used books---they are collecting CD's and DVD as well as used books. Please come through the main entrance. Also, twice a month after each mass. Campbell’s Soup Labels and Box Tops for Education Labels and box tops can be sent in through the school to the Mother’s Guild mailbox. Please mark envelope “Campbell’s Soup Labels” or “Box Tops” Attn: Michelle Meagher. You can also bring them to church as there are collection boxes in the back of the church. ‘ DINE OUT- FOR BSS MEETING SET-UP & THEMES CLASS MOTHERS MEETING @ 6:45 BEFORE THE MOTHERS GUILD MEETING. 7thgrade Mothers’ are asked to set up/clean up for the October 17th meeting. (Showing up is a requirement as to becoming a future class mother). Please arrive no later than 6:15. The Theme for the meeting is “OKTOBERFEST” and the themed cocktail for the meeting is “BEER!”! (Don’t forget- wear something German related- and you can win a prize!) Each Month The Blessed Sacrament Mother’s Guild will be sponsoring a Dine-out with proceeds being donated to our school. There will be bails of hay/stuffings to create your own scarecrow- you just bring the outfit, pillowcase and accessories to decorate, and 2. you may partake in the Trunk-or-treating even if your trunk is not involved in this event. If you can indicate on flyer if your car will partake- that would be helpful! Please send in your Tear-off’s ASAP so Keri and Anne can get this party started!!

Blessed Sacrament Mother’s Guild Newsletter Page 4 October 17th, 2011 This Months Highlights and Thank You’s MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS… • CLASS MOTHERS MEETING @ 6:45 BEFORE THE MOTHERS GUILD MEETING.…this was not marked on the calendar!!!!---oops! • Our Rosary School based program has started up again (this month Being the Month of Mary) -sincere thanks to the Legion of Mary. The classrooms will be blessed with a Statue of Mary- which will stay in each classroom for a week at a time- and a decade of the Rosary will be said daily. There will be a procession weekly when Mary goes onto the next classroom. For further info, or if you as a parent would like to join in the procession or prayers, please contact Kerry Falcone. • For those of you who REALLY like to plan ahead--The Theme for the November meeting is Christmas/Holiday Cheer and the themed cocktail for the meeting will Eggnog with Brandy. (this is the meeting we cheer our Christmas Fair Success—hopefully!) *Special Thanks to the 8th Grade Mom’s who helped with the Set-Up and Clean up of September’s Meeting. There was a total of 158 of you Mother’s who attended! WOO-HOO! The Post Meeting-Social Gathering was also a great way to chill with the other moms, generate ideas, and kick-back-relax with an Apple-Tini and hours-de vours! *Thanks goes to Picture Day mom volunteers (Michele McNeeley & Vinu Malave)- we know who to look for now if those ties aren’t straight this year…lol! *God Bless our 8th Graders and CCD Group who will be receiving their Confirmation on this Saturday, October 15th!
